Liz
Powers
studied
music at Dartington College of Arts, and ethnomusicology at the
School of Oriental and
African
Studies, before going on to qualify as a
music teacher at Roehampton University. She founded and directed choirs
at both Dartington and SOAS, and
ran the Gospel and World Music Choir
Course at The Mary Ward Centre in Bloomsbury. When she's not directing
choirs Liz teaches West African Drumming to children in Manchester, and
when she's not doing that, she's at home singing nursery rhymes to her
small son.
Liz
has been directing the Manchester Community Choir since 2009.
